MyWay's open-back design allows therapists to get close to the child and work with their lower limbs whilst they are in the product, helping maximise the therapeutic benefits delivered by MyWay.
The optional ankle guides are designed to help separate the child's legs to control scissoring gait. The MyWay ankle guide rails are flexible, which gives children more flexibility during use and in set-up. The guides can be used at the ankle or adjusted slightly higher up the calf, depending on individual needs.
Many children experience difficulties maintaining good trunk alignment when in an upright position but the MyWay harness offers something different. The structure and comfortable support delivered by the harness means it works for children with a range of postural support needs. The MyWay harness also provides a ‘hug’ like effect, which can increase sensory feedback, dampen involuntary movement and provide comfort.
The MyWay harness provides the core stability required to support head control and limb movement and in turn, enable optimum stepping ability.
The MyWay harness is hoistable meaning children can be transferred directly in/out of their MyWay frame using the optional hoisting straps accessory. There is no need to use a different hoisting sling to do this, saving time and supporting the child in getting maximum use and enjoyment out of their MyWay!
The MyWay harness guides the dynamic sinusoidal movements required for gait. The harness moves with the child's movements, it is not stiff or rigid, therefore helping replicate a more natural upright movement pattern.
The optional headrest accessory is available to ensure a safe head position for children who might need additional support it e.g. those who experience fluctuating movement.
The possibilities for play activities are endless in MyWay including football, pushing a doll’s pram, playing at the sandpit, doing table-top activities etc. All these activities provide the child with increased opportunity for learning, development and enjoyment.
The MyWay harness also promotes function as the superior postural support it provides allows children to focus on moving and participating to the best of their ability, rather than on issues such as trying to keep their head up, feeling unstable etc. The support and reassurance provided by the MyWay harness allows children to concentrate and use their energy on what they want to do and achieve.
MyWay's castors are multi-functional and offer brake, direction lock, anti-roll back and resistance. This multi-functionality assists steering, prevents backwards movement, limits speed as required etc., and means MyWay can be tailored to the individual child’s needs, helping maximise their opportunity for use and further promoting function.
