Kera Sit2Sit Hoist
The Kera Sit2Sit Hoist gives one carer a way to help someone move between seats when they can no longer stand for a transfer. Whether it’s getting from the edge of the bed into a wheelchair or from a wheelchair onto the toilet, there’s no sling to slide underneath and no need for the person to hold on.
How the Kera supports the person
The person leans forward against a padded chest support, with a strap around their back. The carer uses a manual handle to lift and lower them, so the hoist doesn’t need a battery. The knee supports move with the person as they lift, easing pressure on the knees and helping them sit further back in the next chair.
Clothing changes during the transfer
Supporting the person at the chest and back leaves their hips and thighs clear. For a toilet transfer, the carer can lower the person’s trousers before seating them, then pull them back up on the return transfer. The same access makes it easier to change a continence pad without a separate transfer to bed.
Choosing a Kera for your setup
Kera 80 or Kera 120: The Kera 80 has a shorter handle for tighter spaces and supports up to 80 kg. The Kera 120 uses a longer handle for extra leverage and supports up to 120 kg.
Low or high base: Both models come in two base heights. The low base suits seats around 40–55 cm high, such as manual wheelchairs and day chairs. The high base suits seats around 50–65 cm high, such as powerchairs and shower commodes.
