Ryder is individually specified rather than supplied as one fixed package. Frame length, footrest format, seating dimensions, rear-wheel setup and postural supports are selected following assessment.
Ryder is developed, designed and manufactured by Berollka at its facility in Sinsheim, Germany.
More than 30 years of German rehabilitation engineering sit behind the Ryder. Its folding construction combines low weight, stability and precise configuration for dependable active mobility across home, school and community settings.
The stiff folding frame is designed to translate each push into direct, agile handling.
Collapse the frame for vehicle loading, storage and movement between everyday environments.
Broad sizing, frame lengths and front-frame choices support highly individual prescriptions.
Ryder’s rear-wheel position can be adjusted during setup to refine access to the push rims and balance stability with responsive handling. This allows the fitting team to configure the chair around the rider’s posture, strength and current mobility skills, then review the setup as their needs change.
| Rear-wheel position | Individually configured |
|---|---|
| Overall width | Seat width + 18 cm* |
| Folded width | Approximately 30 cm* |
*With standard wheels and handrims. Brake and wheel choices can change the final dimensions.
Ryder covers a broad range of child and teenage dimensions. Available combinations depend on the selected frame length, SLT or AR format, frame shape, wheel setup and starting measurements.
The measurements below are an initial guide only. Final sizing and configuration should be confirmed by a product specialist and the treating team before ordering.
| Measurement | Available range | Configuration note |
|---|---|---|
| Seat width | 28 to 50 cm | Includes special seat widths at the upper end of the range. |
| Seat depth | 32 to 50 cm | Depths correspond to extra-short, short, middle or long frames. |
| Back height | 25 to 45 cm | Final height depends on the selected back and upholstery. |
| Lower-leg length | Approximately 32 to 49 cm | The shortest settings depend on SLT or AR format and frame length. |
| Folded width | Approximately 30 cm | With standard wheels; brake and wheel choices affect folded size. |
| Maximum capacity | 120 kg | Final configuration must be confirmed for the individual rider. |
A supported trial allows the rider, family and treating team to review propulsion, access, comfort, transfers, folding and everyday handling before proceeding.
Contact our paediatric team to discuss current measurements and goals, confirm trial availability and identify a suitable starting configuration.
